No picture? Lucky you!

Welcome! Since you obviously have nothing better to do today, I'll do my best to retain your interest for a few moments.

Interests

My main interests are computers, and auto racing. In fact, the two consume nearly all of my free time in one form or another. Nascar is my real passion, but more about that later.....

My Car

I love my car...what more can I say. It's a 1987 Buick Grand National and it's my pride and joy. This car was the fastest US production car made in 1987. It has a Turbo V6 and will outrun just about anything on the street. It will also get you in trouble with John E. Law pretty darn quick!

I rode a bus for better than 1000 miles to buy this car. It sits in the garage during the winters here in Decatur IL, and has never seen snow and ice. In fact, my wife says I take better care of the car than I do her. Do you think she's kidding? ;-)

Petty Driving Experience

In March of 1998 I had the pleasure to attend the Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. I fulfilled a life-long dream of actually driving a Winston Cup stock car, and what an experience! I can tell you I climbed out of the car with a whole new respect for what race drivers do each week. Visit their site for full details about this exciting experience. Worth every penny I spent, and them some!

Auto Racing

NASCAR® Winston Cup racing has been my passion.....no, obsession, for the last 20 years. In fact, you may have seen me on the track in this car. I actually got to drive a WC car, and it was incredible (see Petty Experience above).

I guess the highlight of my racing memories was the day I met the King. Richard Petty has always been my hero. This man has done more for the sport of auto racing than we can ever imagine. I was in attendance for his final ride at Atlanta 1992, and it was a time I will always cherish.

Simulation Auto Racing

"It's the next best thing to actually being there"! Sim auto racing has been a passion of mine for some time now. In fact, it's what led me to buy my first computer. I saw this little clip of a game called "Indy 500 - The Simulation", and I had to have it.

Simulation auto racing for me is spelled NASS. The sim series uses NASCAR® Racing 2003 from Papyrus, and has brought the computer racing sim into the 21st century. NASS is known and respected worldwide as one of the biggest and best series running today. I spend countless hours each week doing all the behind the scenes stuff to make that happen, but enjoy every minute of it.

My Job

I work for one of the largest fire equipment distributors in the US as a service technician. I install and service Ansul fire systems in restaurants. I only see most of my customers twice a year, so I enjoy my job quite a bit because I'm always doing something different every day. Not everyone can say that, so I feel quite lucky.

My Family

I have two boys, Tim Jr (23) and Kevin (15). They're both great kids!
